Enrichment Activities at Heather's Highland Hounds

What is Enrichment?

Enrichment is all about allowing dogs to explore and use their natural instincts and their senses. Enrichment activities have a huge range of benefits, including preventing boredom, building confidence, and teaches them a variety of skills such as problem-solving, searching and even agility.

It’s the ideal way to manage their energy, encouraging calmer behaviour and helping them to learn good habits, all whilst they're having a fantastic time!

Enrichment is something we dog owners do on a daily basis, and often without even realising it.  Letting your dog have a really good sniff on his/her walk, playing hide & seek with them, filling a Kong with their favourite healthy treats are all fantastic enrichment activities.

A great website for inspiration is Dogs Trust, have a look and get ready to have some fun!

Interactive Toys

At Heather's Highland Hounds, we believe in keeping your furry friends engaged and stimulated. We have a multitude of enrichment activities including a variety of interactive toys that cater to different play styles and preferences.  Each and every dog is different, and so enrichment activities will always be tailored to your individual dog's needs.

Many enrichment activities are food based; there are however lots of other non-food based activities which your dog is sure to love. Cuillin's favourite at the moment is finding his favourite toy in a game of hide & seek!

Sensory Games

Dogs experience the world through their senses, and our sensory games are designed to tap into their natural instincts. From scent-based games to texture exploration, we offer a range of activities to engage your pup's senses.  Another favourite game for Cuillin is the Bacon Bubble machine, tasty bubbles for your dog to catch and enjoy.

Snuffle Mats

Brain games are an excellent way to challenge your dog and provide mental stimulation. Our snuffle mats and snuffle balls are a fun way to feed your dog while keeping them mentally sharp and entertained.

Please rest assured that all activities we provide are closely supervised, vet approved, completely tailored to your dog and tested by Cuillin.
